Girl's Day Out 2016 Blogger Preview Event

I was lucky enough to be invited along to Metropolitan recently get a taster of what to expect at the annual Girl's Day Out which this year will be taking place from December 2nd-4th in the SECC Glasgow. It looks set to be a fun packed weekend featuring fashion, entertainment, beauty, shopping and cocktails...

There will be a massive 200 exhibitors at this year's event so we got the change to get an exclusive sneak peek at some of the brands that would be represented there, all whilst having a delicious afternoon tea (which will be available at the event in December) washed down with prosecco, which is my kind of afternoon tea!

We got to hear about the show highlights and just some of the fantastic brands that would be exhibiting, as well as the special offers and events that would be on over the weekend, including a few surprises in store! Just some of the brands that will be at the event are Fake Bake, a proud Scottish brand that prides itself on having something for everyone, and they gave a great chat about tanning trends, bespoke contour tanning and their development of new products that don't just tan you but aim to work on your cellulite too!

As a beauty blogger and freelance MUA, my own personal passion is make up, and I was excited to hear from the lovely girls at Urban Decay who were discussing what they would be doing at Girls Day Out. Over the weekend in December they will be providing high/ultra definition lips and skin, covering all bases with colour unleashed for the original Urban Decay colour obsessed, and something for Naked devotees. I was also super excited to swatch and have a look at their new full coverage All Nighter foundation release, and new products out for Xmas. It will be great to have 1-1 time with their make up team at the event to discuss and try out all your Urban Decay make up favourites! I know I have been dreaming about their new Vice lipsticks ever since...

We talked hair trends with the lovely team at Urban Hair and Beauty. They aim to provide a service for women of all ages and will be providing make up by the Ariane Poole range, hair ups, braids and all sorts of goodies at the event. I loved their take on this seasons trends and the fact they really referenced what is on the catwalks this season to add a bit of a twist to your usual Xmas party looks. Anyone for 80's influences, knotted ponytails, messy ballet buns and plaits, braiding, mod fringes, gelled waves, shaggy bobs, and hair colours like mink, rose gold and lavender? Yep, it was amazing and got everyone really excited for the party season.

To round up a fabulous fun evening we got the change to sample some of what will be on offer at the event in December and chat to the brand reps in person. Girls Day out will be a great pre Xmas chance for a bit of pampering, shopping and fun all under one roof, and if you feel like a break, there are not one but three cocktail bars, fashion shows and lots of entertainment. Tickets are available here and start at £16. Get over and check it out if you like the sound of what is sure to be a great weekend.
