Sometimes a girl just wants a bit of luxury when it comes to make up and luxury is certainly what you get when it comes to the La Petite Robe Noire's collection from Guerlain. Inspired by the joyful energy of the fragrance of the same name comes 20 shades with unprecedented and scented (yes scented!) formulas for you to play with. "Mischievous, Parisian. seductive, spectacular" and that's just the lipstick and nail polish! Also featured is the Cils D'Enfer So Volume Mascara, who's packaging alone makes me swoon.
First up is the polish which I have in the shade "Red Heels". This is exactly the kind of shade I love for Spring/Summer, a bright coral red. The packaging is small and cute with the signature upside down heart on the lid. Once the solvents evaporate it leaves a sweet berry and floral scent behind for 24 hours, slightly gimmicky and I'm not sure I definitely NEED my nail polish to smell once dried but it was a nice quirky feature and allowed me to get a waft of the La Petite Robe Noir every now and then. The colour lasted well for about 3 days before I noticed chipping, and I will definitely be wearing this in the coming months. The polish comes in 8 shades and there is also a base and top coat.
Next onto the "Deliciously Shiny Lip Colour" from the range. This formula is designed to be layered for your desired look and intensity during the day. It has a shiny, sheer lacquered effect on the lips and has the same scent as the nail polish and a not unpleasant sweet taste. I have the shade Poppy Cap which is a bright orange red which has a slight shimmer to it. One layer (as pictured) is very subtle and sheer and is great for people who are delving into bright lipstick for the first time and don't want anything too matte.
There are 20 shades to choose from in the range with something to suit everyone.
Lastly is the Cils D'Enfer So Volume Mascara. I must confess I am more of a drugstore mascara girl at heart as they have to been thrown away after a couple of months and there are some great ones out there, and I want to try them all. However, this formula was lovely, didn't flake, dry out over the day or smudge.The brush was slender and coated even my small lashes without being blobby or putting on too much product.The packaging is gorgeous, black lacquer and gold and this is a product that just FEELS really luxurious. A winner.
