The Red Lipstick Edit: My current favourite reds

Anyone who knows me can testify to the fact that I enjoy, no, LOVE a bold lip. Any colour usually, but time and time again I come back to classic red. In the Winter red lips look especially chic. Here's a round up of my current favourites that I have been getting lots of wear out of...

L-R in picture below: First up is Tom Ford in Cherry Lush, a full on, pigmented glamorous raspberry red. These lipsticks aren't cheap, but I think its justified for a treat and as a lover of make up. Super pigmented and comfortable to wear all day without leaving your lips feeling dry and cakey, and lets not even mention the thrill I get from the gorgeous packaging...*swoon*

MAC Lady Bug: This is one for those who want a subtly soft red. The Lustre finish on this makes it easy enough to wear for everyday and for those who are maybe a bit freaked out by a full on red to start with.

MAC Lady Danger: A matte orangey tomato red which packs a real punch and is one of those well known MAC shades that lots of people love. This looks amazing paired with dewy skin and minimal make up on the rest of the face so the lipstick can make a real statement.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Hot Pepper: These lip paints are amazing! So affordable, and pigmented, they go on wet and dry to a brilliant matte finish that doesn't budge (unless you are doing some major eating and drinking then you will need to touch up) but I honestly think these are fantastic and have great staying power for the price. Once dried it feels like you aren't wearing anything on your lips.

Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Red Square: Another firm favourite and another hot tomato shade is this lip pencil by NARS. So easy to use without faffing with make up brushes this can be pencilled straight on for a highly pigmented matte lip that looks amazing for hours. I love that its properly matte and doesn't have that annoying fake minty smell that a lot of drugstore lip crayons have. I'm mentioning no names but personally I hate it! Next down the line is the same formula in the shade "Cruella" I absolutely LOVE this plummy, purple, deeper red and this definitely gets my winter lip vote.

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Mayfair Red Lady: For people who want a bit more slip to the feel of their lipstick and aren't keen on a completely matte lip then this Rimmel lippy is the one for you. Like Bourjois I love this for it's affordability and think the colour payoff, and texture is well worth the price. I have a few lipsticks in this moisture renew formula as they feel so great on the lips, in no way drying and wear off nicely as well before it's time for those all important touch ups, necessary when wearing red all day/night!

So there you have it! My current favourite reds! I'd love to hear about your favourites and discover some new ones in the process. I'm a bold lip lover through and through.
