Well... we are well and truly into January, it's cold, grey and it's the month when most of us are skint and trying to get healthy. Amidst all this trying to be good and denying myself treats I decided to use some of my Christmas money to treat myself to some calorie free make-up to cheer me up. These two beauties are all you need for vampy, berry coloured, luscious lips this Winter...
Nightmoth is a very dark wine coloured liner. I personally love lipliner as think it gives great definition and staying power to your lipstick, especially if you are going for a stronger, bolder lip.
MAC lip pencils are really smooth and super long lasting. They also contain Vitamin E. I like to shape the lips first with them and then lightly colour them in with the liner which makes your lip colour last longer once its on, and doing this ensures you don't end up with a lipliner line around your lips when the lipstick wears off (Not a good look).
Diva is a matte/velvety finish lipstick in a gorgeous, rich deep cherry colour with a brownish undertone. It's quite a dark shade and very long lasting, but I think it's wearable as its more of a sophisticated berry that an in your face bold bright red, so this may be a good one if you are a bit afraid of brights.
This is the kind of shade I love to wear in the Winter months and looks great when paired with a very simple make up on the rest of your face, a perfect base and a couple of coats of mascara.
Nightmoth is a bit dark to be paired with this lipstick but something like Currant from MAC would work with Diva. Nightmoth may be better suited to Hang Up, another gorgeous dark shade.
Happy shopping!
